Irsay Sisters Inherit Indianapolis Colts, Becoming Among the Wealthiest Female Sports Owners

Following Jim Irsay's passing, his daughters assume leadership of the $5.9 billion franchise

Jim Irsay's unexpected death in May 2025 marked a significant transition for the Indianapolis Colts.

His three daughters—Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt, and Kalen Jackson—have now taken the helm of the franchise, continuing a family legacy that spans over five decades.

Each sister holds an equal 33.3% stake in the team, valuing their individual net worth at approximately $1.9 billion.

This positions them among the wealthiest female owners in professional sports.

At a press conference in June, Irsay-Gordon, now serving as CEO, emphasized their commitment to maintaining the Colts as a family-run business.

"We are so proud to continue our dad's legacy, beginning with carrying out his foremost wish, to keep the Colts in our family," she stated.

Her sisters echoed this sentiment, underscoring their dedication to the team's future.

Their leadership roles are as follows:

Carlie Irsay-Gordon: Co-owner and CEO, known for her hands-on approach, including wearing a headset on the sidelines during games to understand play calls.

Casey Foyt: Co-owner and Executive Vice President, with a background in sports marketing and event coordination, notably assisting in planning the NFL's first regular-season game outside North America.

Kalen Jackson: Co-owner, Chief Brand Officer, and President of the Indianapolis Colts Foundation, leading initiatives like "Kicking the Stigma," which focuses on mental health awareness.

The sisters have been integral to the Colts organization for years, serving as vice chairs and co-owners since 2012.

Their deep-rooted involvement ensures a seamless transition and a continued focus on both on-field success and community engagement.

Under their father's leadership, the Colts achieved significant milestones, including a Super Bowl victory in 2007 and the opening of Lucas Oil Stadium in 2008.

The sisters aim to build upon this foundation, striving for excellence and honoring their father's vision.

As the NFL season progresses, the Colts, under new leadership, are poised to make a significant impact both on and off the field.

Their commitment to the franchise and the Indianapolis community reflects a dedication that extends beyond the game.

Upcoming games for the Colts include:

Denver Broncos @ Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Sep 14, 2025 at 01:05 PM PDT

Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Sep 21, 2025 at 10:00 AM PDT

Indianapolis Colts @ Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Sep 28, 2025 at 01:05 PM PDT

Fans eagerly anticipate how the team's new leadership will navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.

With a strong foundation and a clear vision, the Irsay sisters are set to lead the Colts into a promising future.
